PassInversi is an educational and touristic app that explores the deep relations between Literature and Territory that many Italian Cities can tell and that are by now prerogative of few Literature researchers and experts.

This app is the result of a research project financed by the Italian Ministry of Culture aimed at the collection of special spots and sites inside the hearts of many Italian cities that have a particular significance in the history of worlds literature: places that are quoted and described in famous poems or novels, places that inspired famous poets in writing some of their most famous works.
Underestimated places that maybe had been the starting points for historical expeditions throughout space and poetry.

This release focuses on the city of Genova. And features authors like Dante Alighieri, Mark Twain, Gustave Flaubert, etc.

Genoa was chosen because, as an harbor, it has been visited by many International writers and poets during the centuries, and many of them wrote about it (e.g. Mark Twain, Paul Valery, Mary Shelley) and many famous Italian Poets lived there (e.g. Eugenio Montale, Giorgio Caproni, Edoardo Sanguineti).

The app features several points of interest inside the city of Genova that carry significance for the history of worlds literature and that should be included in any touristic visit and should be known by the Genoa’s people.

Many of these points of interest were discovered through bibliographic researches and many of them were unknown to the public because they are outside the common touristic pathways, are hidden or are completely transformed.

This app is an invitation to explore some of the most beautiful Italian cities in this new fascinating perspective and contains precious content for researchers interested in studying the relation between art and territory.

Thanks to the innovative geofencing features of iOS users will receive a notification when in proximity of some Point of Interest.
This first message will contain only some verses or a brief quote; if wanting to learn more, the user will then be able to access to specific documents about the place and the literary work related to that in accessible text files.

The places will be also shown on a map view with an overlay showing the region around the Point Of Interest and the position of the user.
